Berries, like strawberries and blueberries, are a tasty, sweet treat! Though you can usually find them in the grocery stores all year, they are fresh and in-season between the months of June to September in Illinois.

Look for berries that are firm, bright without browned areas, and without bruises, soft spots, or mold. Store them in the refrigerator for up to 1 to 3 days. Avoid washing them until right before you eat to help shelf life.
